Mental Health Ministry

Everyone has to look after their mental health and can have mental health challenges at different times in life. We recognise that some people live with complex mental health and we seek to make AUC community life inclusive.

At worship services, we announce that people are welcome to get up and move about during services (Covid restrictions permitting) and try to ensure there are seats available at end of rows so people do not feel hemmed in. We also provide links (below) and have held training to better understand mental health conditions, how we can support each other and how we can encourage ourselves and each other to look after our mental health.

For information about Edinburgh-based services to support people with mental health issues, their families and friends, please visit Edinburgh Mental Health Information who hold a web-based directory of services.

AUC is also a supporter of the See Me Campaign in promoting good mental health and eliminating stigma.
